Ikebana, or Japanese flower arranging, uplifts both your spirit and your environment. Kate Brower from Asobimasu Clay is passionate about Ikebana and has created a unique Ikebana vase with kenzan attached and ready for your unique arrangement.

A kenzan, also called spiky frog, is a specific device used in the Japanese art of Ikebana for fixing the flowers in the vessel. It consists of five erected brass needles where the stems are fixed. The name kenzan literally means sword mountain. Cut stems from the garden sit happily on the kenzan and create a charming arrangement.

Handmade in Melbourne by talented ceramic artist and florist Kate Brouwer of Asobimasu Clay. With functionality at the forefront of her process, Kate creates simple yet bold vessels that provide spaces for nature to become the living artwork within its walls. Intertwining nature and form in this unique way offers boundless opportunities to enjoy her work.
