The Flat Out Bed features a contemporary interpretation of traditional carpentry with precise, interlocking dovetail and mortise and tenon joinery, fastened securely with hand turned oak pins. A distinctive dark edge is the result of the way the pieces of timber are cut and gives a clean, linear look. This combination of light and dark means the Flat Out Bed works in bedrooms with darker timbers as well as more neutral tones
For those requiring a little extra storage, our large Underbed Drawer is the perfect companion for storing linen, clothes and other items when space is at a premium. They fit on each side of the Flat Out bed so everyone gets the space they need.
The Flat Out Bed is made from sustainably forested birch which is neutral, natural and timeless, as well as having excellent stability and strength properties. Production takes place in a small family-owned business in Northern Italy and is overseen by our collaborator who has decades of passionate manufacturing and design expertise. This bed has been made using environmentally responsible sourcing and manufacturing practices.
Finishes are non toxic and water-based.
