The Future Ready Home

We recently took part in an event to celebrate the opening of Mirvac’s innovative ‘Future Ready Display Home’ at their project, The Fabric, in Altona North.

The Fabric represents Mirvac’s focus on integrating environmental and social sustainability into their projects and their new fully-electric display home explores how small choices in the home can have great impact over time.

Plyroom is one of the sustainably minded Australian brands that Mirvac has chosen to fit out The Fabric’s 155 square metre townhome display space, which offers visitors opportunities to learn and explore a vision of future home living, with intelligent products and appliances selected for their ability to last and adapt over a lifetime.

Scattered throughout the home you’ll find a collection of our furniture, including our Ava Lifestages Cot, Cabine Sideboard, Settanta Coffee Table, Slow Bedside Tables, Panca Corta Bench, and A4 Drawers.

Settanta Coffee Table

Plyroom is in great company in The Future Ready Display Home, alongside other businesses pioneering positive change in social and environmental sustainability, such as Great Wrap, Jardan, and The Dirt Company. ROCC and Community Bike Hub, among others.

Being part of The Fabric project has allowed us to express and reflect on our mission to help people create playful and flexible spaces for families, and it has been great to share some of our knowledge and products with The Fabric’s community.

We’re especially enamoured of the beautiful parks and attention given to green spaces at The Fabric. Patchwork Park, where the event took place, sits at the heart of the precinct and invites community, bringing residents together around open green spaces, a sculptural playground for all ages, shared barbecues and shelters, communal herb gardens and shaded areas beneath large shady trees for all to enjoy. It’s been inspiring to see an example of how we can build socially connected and sustainable villages in Melbourne’s suburbs.
