Does planning, writing, editing and publishing engaging written content and creating & sourcing on-brand imagery & video across marketing, PR and business communication channels and assets get you going?

We are looking for a freelance Social Media & Content Manager (flexible days, approximately 15-18 hours per week) to take ownership of our content marketing and social media and develop Plyroom’s voice across our digital channels. This newly created role will be see you take the lead on content development, creative writing, scheduling, implementation of brand partnerships and other creative initiatives as part of the strategy. You will have a good eye for engaging content, be skilled with a camera and have experience in creating short-form video.

The ideal person is passionate about creating authentic and lasting connections. They will understand the importance of story-telling within the context of our values.

We're looking for someone with a minimum 3 years of creative industry experience in marketing or communications with excellent copywriting skills (your folio is full of examples of your copywriting ability, attention to detail and creative thinking and flair) & imagery curation.

Creating original content comes naturally to you and you are driven by writing, managing and implementing an effective content strategy that aligns with business goals.  You believe that correct grammar and spelling are non-negotiable and you love engaging in dialogues across social media platforms. 

You thrive on building an online community by creating & curating the right imagery to support engaging social media captions.  And creating engaging eDMs and journal posts is another exciting opportunity to tell the story.




Work closely with Director to develop social media content strategies to raise awareness and engagement

Develop, execute and manage Plyroom’s social media presence including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube

Create engaging content via smart phone or camera (photo, video, stop motion, reels)

Ensure consistency of branding across all marketing activity and align social media activity with eDMs and marketing activity

Manage a responsive community to ensure best user experience

Reporting and analysis of content performance in line with key metrics

Provide social media content thought leadership, innovation and process improvement initiatives

Integrate social media content across blog and eDM where appropriate




3+ years’ experience in marketing communications and/or eCommerce and digital marketing industry

Experience in social media and its various platforms isessential, including Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest

Experience in identifying and creating collaborations with brands, media partners, influencers and ambassadors to produce content

Experience with Shopify, Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator and Photoshop a bonus

Analytical and reporting skills, experience with a range of online analytics tools

Experience with scheduling tools, reporting tools and can measure successful content programs in tangible business terms.

Solid understanding of email marketing, e-commerce and exposure to online campaigns

Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills & flawless spelling and grammatical knowledge

Meticulous attention to detail

Ability to manage and own projects and meet deadlines
