During the assembly process, when inserting and securing the wooden G dowels, ensure that they are not fully inserted. To facilitate future adjustments to the cot's configuration, leave approximately 5 millimetres of the dowels protruding, allowing for easy removal.

When it comes time to remove the dowels, use the forked end of the hammer and follow the grain direction as demonstrated in the image This technique minimises the risk of splitting the dowels.
