    Made In Melbourne

Designed in Melbourne and made in Melbourne, we employ local small-scale production which combines the efficiency of technology with handmade quality. Our production takes place with trusted partners who have decades of passionate manufacturing expertise.

    A Material Difference

All timber sourced is made from sustainably forested birch, both warm and timeless. We love birch ply for its gorgeous tone and structural stability. Our birch ply comes from either Finland or Russia depending on the harvest that year, making sure to never over harvest an area. We’ve heard lots of misconceptions about plywood over the years, and the term ‘ply’ is as generic as the term ‘wood’ to describe a material. Plywood is created when thin layers of honest timber are pressed together. In the production of plywood, each layer of hardwood is glued in alternating directions. Typically, solid timber wants to bend and warp along its grain direction, so alternating the layers forces the timber to work against itself, making it super strong and less inclined to warp.
