As was the way last year, we entered DENFAIR 2018 with slight imposter syndrome and a weariness after weeks of preparation and a few sleepless nights. As a small Australian company, it is humbling (and intimidating) to sit alongside such illustrious and long-standing design giants.
DENFAIR is a Melbourne-based contemporary interior design trade show and design fair for interior designers, architects and design professionals.
These feelings aside, it soon became apparent our self-doubt was unwarranted with our monochrome stand well-received over the three days by trade and the public alike (why are we always our own biggest critics?).
Our stand was awash with earthy, terracotta and brick tones to elevate the natural lightness of our pressed birch and Tasmanian oak. Featuring a curated selection of our cylindrical and streamline living pieces including the Poltrona Storage Seat, Settanta Coffee Table and Flor Planters and modern storage pieces such as the Shibui Large Shelf, the stand was commended for its simple yet beautiful aesthetic.
In addition to walls and floors painted in Haymes’ Comanche Dust, the monochromatic palette was accentuated with ceramics in terracotta shades, autumnal foliage from The Plant Society, and the subtle-pink of a Phalaenopsis orchid from Fitzroy’s Flowers Vasette.
Also seen at Den was our Shibui Mid at Cultiver Linen’s stand - adorned with flowers by Hattie Molloy and their latest range of European flax linen.
In case you missed it, here are our favourite stands from DENFAIR. A collection from emerging Australian designers and international established labels. Take a peek…
